Thought I'd share an idea that works for us. How many days are you going to school? Are you going to work only mornings? 5 days a week? or 4? or 3?.Does it specify how many days per year you must homeschool? Or how many hours per week? Or just reviewing your goals on a monthly basis to make sure your homeschool is on track. Do you really need a home school schedule at all? Sometimes a checklist of things to get done each week is more flexible.Next you need to think about what type of daily homeschool schedule you would like.Īre you a perfectionist who needs every second organised? Or can you work with something looser? It may take a little time but be firm - everyone will get used to it. Don't answer the phone, and don't allow pop-in visitors. Don't make appointments during that time. If you are going to carve out some time in the day then it is best to ring-fence that time.Try changing your schedule once in a while - or throw something new into the mix. Doing the same thing day in day out will get boring for everyone. If things aren't working according to the schedule - change the schedule. Things change and homeschooling isn't an exact science. It's not going to be written in stone! If your home school schedule is intimidating you, bin it and start again. Are you really going to be able to structure their time? Schedules just do not work with some homeschooling families! A great homeschooling schedule is only great if it works FOR you - not against you. Use a dry erase marker to check things off daily. NOTE: These printables would be perfect to laminate. You will put their name on it, add dates of assignments and check off as they are turned in. Assignments – this is meant to have for each child.If you have more than 4 kids, print off another one. There is a vertical version that has 2 spots for kids names and a horizontal that has spots for 4 kids names. Overview – a few versions of this, depending on the size of family that you have.Homeschool Routine – filled in, partially filled in, blank.It won’t be perfect overnight but it will get better! Keep trying until you find the right mix for your family. This will look different for every family! Use my printables as a guideline.
